For the second year running, Hamilton HIVE has put together a full week of events for Young Professional week! Following the incredible success of YP Week 2017, we've scheduled a similar series of events.
We'll be starting out the week with practical etiquette; how to have a meeting over a meal. Stephen Verbeek, president and CEO of Hello Cannabis, Director at Huxton Black, and Business Development at Green Relief will be giving tips and tricks for how to have an effective meeting and also manage to finish your meal. The meal will be eaten at Rapscallion Rogue Eatery. Tickets are $50, and can be purchased here!
On Tuesday, May 15th, we're bringing together our member groups at Southern Smoke for a night of Trivia, Networking, and delicious BBQ! Come out to test your knowledge and meet some of the different YP Groups in Hamilton! Register here to ensure we have a seat for you.
Do you need wing tips? Does every job entail wearing high heels? Collar or no collar? Does your tie need to match your pocket square? Hamilton fashion influencers will be doing a fashion show and answering all of your questions about how to dress for the job you want and the job you have - and anything in between! Plus, enjoy a glass or house wine or draft beer as part of the ticket price! Get your tickets here!
Join us for a night of learning how to be more mindful and meditative through a workshop with leaders from Hamilton’s award-winning wellness centre Zee Float. Let Zee Float’s internationally-trained and knowledgeable instructors Stacey Ziebarth and Steve Ferrell help you begin your mindfulness meditation journey by walking you through a few meditation styles, bringing you towards a refocused and reenergized state of mind.
After the mindfulness meditation session, we'll be joined by the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH) for a dialogue on Self-Care and Mental Health for Young Professionals in a Chaotic World.
This presentation will discuss self-care and mental health ideas and resources for young professionals to create a suicide safer community, while openly discussing suicide in a safe space.
Stacey Ziebarth is a health and wellness expert. She became a certified STOTT Pilates® instructor opening her first business, Studio Zee Pilates in 2005 winning Hamilton Spectator Readers’ Choice award two years in a row. Stacey has recently become a meditation teacher and opened one of Hamilton’s first Float Therapy studios, Zee Float. Stacey has a deep love for Hamilton, continuing her mission of raising people up to meet their mind-body goals.
Steve Ferrell teaches Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness practices in the Hamilton area and has been studying and practicing meditation for a decade. Over this time, he has worked with many different techniques from different lineages of Yoga, and Buddhism as well as studying Western-based psychological perspectives.
Tamara Leniew is a mental health advocate with 17 years’ experience as an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Living Works Trainer.
The event will be at redchurch cafe + gallery! Get your ticket here.
To close out YP Week, we're tasting everyone's favourite morning beverage: coffee! Relay Coffee Roasters on Concession will be hosting us for a morning coffee tasting and networking session. There's no better way to start the Friday before the long weekend than with a few tastes of delicious coffee! Grab tickets here.
